The University of Malta spent €66.388 million on academic staff salaries in the year 2024, Education Minister Clifton Grima stated in response to a parliamentary question posed by Nationalist Party MP Justin Schembri.
Schembri asked the Minister for Education how much the total spend by the University of Malta was on academic staff salaries in the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Grima responded by providing the total salary spend for the years 2023 and 2024, which were €66.823 million and €66.388 million respectively, but added that the information for the year 2025 could be provided once this year concludes.
