Jensen Huang says the future workforce will be a mix of ‘humans and digital humans,’ who could be licensed out or hired—and need onboarding

  1. “He estimated the potential market for agentic AI labor could be trillions of dollars, as digital nurses, accountants, lawyers, and marketers join the workforce.

Huang explained how critical the onboarding process is at Nvidia, which needs to impart its culture, philosophies, and practices to new hires. Digital humans will be no different.

“I tell my CIO, our company’s IT department they’re going to be the HR department of agentic AI in the future,” he said. “They’re going to be the HR department of digital employees of the future. And those digital employees are going to work with our biological ones, and that’s going to be the shape of our company in the future.”

Other tech leaders envision a similar scenario of humans and agentic AI employees working together.

Salesforce’s Marc Benioff said he and many of his fellow CEOs would be the [last cohort of executives to lead all-human workforces](https://archive.is/o/Icchw/https://fortune.com/2025/01/24/marc-benioff-salesforce-human-workforces-ai-agents/).

“From this point forward… we will be managing not only human workers but also digital workers,” he said.

Also at that event, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said that by 2026 or 2027, AI systems will be “better than almost all humans at almost all things.”

Of course, such predictions have also generated anxiety about how humans will fit in the new AI-powered labor market.

Evidence has been mounting that [recent college graduates are having a harder time finding jobs](https://archive.is/o/Icchw/https://fortune.com/2025/08/08/ai-layoffs-jobs-market-shrinks-entry-level/) because companies are relying more on AI.”

  2. So digital slaves. If any of this BS actually worked then his goal is the creation of digital slaves.

I dont know if we’ll ever have real, sentient ai robots or beings or whatever. But even if we can, why would you want to make them? We still have a lot if racism and bigotry in the world, why do you want to invent a new group for people to hate and possibly go to war with? Cue Jeff Goldblum in JP.

It’s not much different than managing enterprise software and workflow automations. Just because they use new words doesn’t mean shit isn’t going to break.

Hell, AWS went down yesterday…you think an AI fixed that?

  6. Wow, I guess rich people like Jensen never have to interact with these customer service sites, because all those AI agents are fucking worthless and people end up screaming into the phone for an actual human.

  7. I see what is happening. The problem with AI has always been accountability. If the company created their own AI, the company has to be accountable for the work.

But with this new workforce model, vendor companies will be competing to release AI employees and these licensed vendors will be accountable for the work AI is doing like a contract staff.

If you look at it from this perspective, the business model and motivation to improve the AI staff makes becomes clear. If you encapsulate an AI in the employment structure, suddenly the management of AI becomes easy. General companies who don’t want to deal with technology treats it like a contract staff.

Tbh it will also become easier to regulate. Just have 1:X human to AI ratios.

It also solves the problem of requiring AI counterparts if the company can just hire AI employees as a way to interface with other company AI. This solves the problem of requiring each company to develop their own AI when they can just hire one while still owning whatever the AI generates. You can also keep the AI offline, onsite and not impact legacy system.

    It’s time to buy property.

Crazy that the entire economy is being reorganized by tech bros and not a single vote was cast.
