CHESHIRE, CT (WFSB) – A fire that involved a diesel tank broke out at a business in Cheshire on Wednesday.
The Cheshire Fire Department said it responded to the business on Waterbury Road just before 4 p.m.
“On arrival crews had fire showing from a 40×70 noncombustible metal frame garage,” the department said in a report. “Units deployed multiple handlines and a blitz fire portable deck gun to extinguish the fire and cool multiple compressed gas tanks.”
Firefighters said the fire was under control by about 4:20 p.m.
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was notified because of oil and gas run off.
There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
The cause of the fire was under investigation by the Cheshire Fire Marshal’s office.
