HIGH POINT — Residential furniture brand D2U Home, owned by UE Furniture Group, has completed its manufacturing expansion in Romania and Vietnam in the first quarter of this year, and now the combined 2.5 million square feet are fully operational.

The $38 million (Romania) and $100 million (Vietnam) projects will help ease supply chain challenges for retailers, according to the company.

Frank Norton, president and CEO of D2U Home, said by growing in both Europe and Asia, the company is able to better support partners across the Americas, Europe and Southeast Asia with faster lead times and consistent supply.

“These expansions reflect UE’s continued investment in global manufacturing and our commitment to delivering dependable, scalable production for customers around the world,” said Norton.

The Romania facility, located in Hunedoara County and Jud. Timiș, produces up to 2,500 containers per month, while the Vietnam site, in Binh Duong Province, produces up to 10,000 containers per month.

The expansions mirror UE Furniture Group’s main operations in China, incorporating automation, robotics and on-site certified testing labs. Each also includes a dedicated R&D center, with UE investing more than 3% of its total turnover in research and development across its manufacturing group.

“These projects are about strengthening our foundation for the future,” Norton said.

D2U Home is exhibiting stationary and motion upholstery, bedroom, dining room, entertainment and office furniture in its High Point 300 S. Centennial St., 2nd floor 2.
