MASSILLON – The Massillon Community Health & Innovation Center celebrated its grand opening Oct. 23 with a ceremony attended by local business and elected leaders, health hub officials and invited guests.
Located at the former Affinity Medical Center campus, 870 Amherst Road NE, Massillon Community Health is transforming the site into a multi-tenant hub, blending clinical care and preventive wellness.
Massillon Mayor Jamie Slutz lauded the health center for its community fit.
“MCH’s commitment to our residents’ well-being aligns perfectly with our city’s vision for a healthier, stronger future,” he said.
Access Care, a 10-bed urgent care center operated by Ohio Valley Physicians Health began serving patients Sept. 15 inside the revamped medical building. The care unit was the first business to open.
Pretorian Labs and Catalyst Performance are other companies joining with the health center. Catalyst Performance focuses on metabolic health and recovery, as well as athletic training, physical therapy and wellness for adults and athletes.
“With Access Care now open, Pretorian Labs joining our diagnostics platform and CatalystPerformance leading our metabolic recovery and development programs, MCH has transitionedfrom concept to full-scale execution,” Chris Zimmerman, chief executive officer of the health center, said in a prepared statement.
The Massillon health center has nearly 350,000 square feet and rests on an 11.6-acre property.
“The services provided here will touch lives, and we are excited for what the MCH team has in store for the future,” added Ted Herncane, the city’s development director.
