I can’t be the only one who thinks it is absolutely stupid that this is the approach to dealing with people who are homeless? How is this solving the problem?

1. Someone who is unable to find a job, and receiving little to no benefits from the state (due to lack of ID)
2. is now in jail for 2 months at the cost of the tax payer
3. And now will have a criminal record, making it even harder for him to get a job (on the premise he gets an ID), thus potentially dooming him to a long life of being homeless.
The law is fucking stupid. Either help him back on to his feet to be a productive person in society or the person has to be deported to their home country.
