On 24 October 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian.

The discussion covered a wide range of issues relating to bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the People’s Republic of China.

Particular emphasis was placed on the dynamics of relations within the framework of the Georgia-China strategic partnership, as well as on cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism, education, and culture.

The importance of the visa-free regime between Georgia and China was especially highlighted, as it contributes to strengthening business ties and promoting people-to-people contacts.

The significance of establishing direct air connections between the two countries was also underlined.

During the meeting, the parties discussed matters related to Georgia’s participation in the 8th China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai.

The conversation further touched upon ongoing developments in the wider region and the prospects for advancing the Middle Corridor.
