O’Leary emphasized that as long as passengers check in before reaching the airport, they can easily have their details retrieved at the gate or at the airport check-in desk.

Travelers who do not check in online before arriving at the airport will still be required to pay an airport check-in fee and may experience delays in the process.
Additionally, Ryanair’s website stresses that if a passenger’s phone dies or they lose their device, their flight information will already be stored in the system, and assistance will be available at the gate to help them board the flight without further issues.
Handling Exceptions: Special Cases for Certain Countries
While Ryanair is making the shift to digital-only boarding passes, there are a few exceptions to the rule. Passengers traveling to Albania will still be required to present paper boarding passes until March 2026, as the country’s aviation authorities have not yet approved digital passes. Similarly, Morocco has maintained its policy of using physical boarding passes, and Ryanair will continue to comply with this regulation for flights to the African country.
These exceptions were made after discussions with the respective authorities, and Ryanair has confirmed that once the rules in Albania and Morocco change, the digital boarding pass system will apply universally.
