Why is this becoming such an issue if there’s no inflation?

The entire French-bordering towns are flooded with car & bicycle thefts and break-ins, but this is the real problem for the coop-migro owned government
I used to smuggle meat for my husband and I when we were young and broke.
Of course it was nowhere near a criminal offense and I only fit what I could in a couple of shopping bags I took by bus.
Border control/police got on the bus once to look for someone and he literally tripped on my big bag in the process. I thought it was over for me & he just smiled and winked.
I don’t do it anymore because we’ve worked hard and can buy local now. But I would hate to see struggling families penalized.
