Bernalillo County hosts a virtual community listening session on Thursday to gather input on the Regional Behavioral Health Plan, part of the statewide Behavioral Health Reform and Investment Act (SB3). The session, being held via Zoom, invites residents, behavioral health providers, community organizations and stakeholders to share feedback on behavioral health needs, service gaps and priorities in the county and surrounding region.The county, serving as the accountable entity for the region, coordinated the session with the Administrative Office of the Courts to support the SB3 regional planning process. Participants have the opportunity to provide insights that will help shape a sustainable, locally driven system of care.Wayne Lindstrom, deputy county manager of the Behavioral Health Authority Division, emphasizes the importance of community involvement. “This is an opportunity for residents, providers and partners to help design a regional behavioral health system that truly reflects our community’s needs and strengths,” Lindstrom said.Additional listening sessions, including in-person or hybrid options, are expected to be scheduled in the coming weeks.
