  1. Most politicians are like that. YOLO attitude. That’s why I believe that an independent institution should should be given power/stronger oversight over the country’s finances. There is such a institution in Malta – the Fiscal Council but in practice it is toothless. They just publish reports which no one reads or gives fucks about.

    The same shit as the Russian story, Even higher taxes, higher electricy bills, higher fuel and domestic gas harms the present and future but I guess you where too young to remember.

    While not the the best for the country, it is sustainable as long as the GDP is over a certain level, that is the kicker here. The EU has no problem with it either.

    I would rather see the money spent on fixing the countries problems, but they need to get elected so they will dish the cash, the problem is they never plan ahead to solve anything but getting re-elected they are very good at that.
