Of course she did. And of course she’s a young woman in a men’s prison….when will the authorities learn that putting young, easily manipulated women in with hardened criminals is a seriously bad idea.

Just a reminder to mentally reframe this story for if a male prison guard did the same thing to a female prisoner, how would you feel about it?
Male prisoners are indeed ‘vulnerable’ because they are completely dependent on prison staff for everything: which cell they are in, whom their cellmates are, if they receive their post, if they have access to telephone calls, if they can get a prison job, time out of cell, if they are allowed to have visits, and many many other facets of prison life. A prison guard can make life easy for a prisoner or they can make life hell for the prisoner. And don’t forget that many (if not most) prisoners have mental health problems and literacy issues and even learning impairments. So this prison guard took advantage of her position of a vulnerable inmate, even if the prisoner appeared to ‘consent’ to it. What choice did he really have? And was even really capable of making a choice?
And, the prison guard has received all sorts of training and support on how to *not* shag the inmates, so she deliberately ignored all of this in favour of her actions.

> ‘It was good sharing dat love today ur p***ies ammaazzzeeeingggggg’,
Easy to see how he manipulated her with his charm.
> The multi-faith room is not covered by CCTV
What a terrible idea.

Regardless of your opinions, in most countries include UK, women, especially those capable of bearing children, are **a kind of vital national resource**, although most civilized countries would not openly admit this.. Therefore, relative leniency towards women’s crimes is inevitable.

Was listening to LBC the other day where an ex-screw called in to say the previous government made huge redundancies of long-term, well trained officers. That gap was then filled with cheaper, younger people who get far less training. This is what then happens.

If the roles were reversed the male guard would be called all sorts, but in this case, and all cases really, the woman is always the victim. Surprise f’ing surprise.

I know gay relationships exist, but I’m really uncomfortable with mixed sex staff on prisons.

Since it seems to come up every time, its extremely unlikely that the CPS would consider this to come under Section 4 of the Sex Offences Act (functionally rape but without the requirement for the use of a penis).
