Good. It’s the least he deserves but this process should have happened sooner.

I’m sure plenty of people will be complaining he’s not in prison, but regardless this has still been a funny process to watch because it’s become clear that the rumours that Charles hates Andrew are clearly true. Also, for what it’s worth this is about as strong a rebuke as Charles is allowed in his capacity as king.

Can’t help but think William has been in his dad’s ear about this. Charles has been far too soft on his brother throughout this whole saga.

  4. Wondering if the idea is to remove all royal links so if / when he’s charged with something, he won’t be as an official royal.

I wonder how much of this could have been avoided if the Queen had let Andrew stay in the Navy and serve as his career. I can’t help but feel that making him give up his full time naval career was a huge mistake.

Something more is brewing here, I’m wondering if there’s more about to come out, plus there is the book that is about to be released, but I think there is more about to come out and the king is trying as hard as possible to distance him from the rest of the royal family so hopefully there won’t be as much blow back on them.

  7. Remember: he will forever be on the dole of the public taxpayer. The lowest tier of cost, the better.

  8. Sandringham won’t be terribly pleased…

I feel sorry for the King. His brother has done something which at the absolute most charitable one could call absurdly stupid and probably far worse.

But he is also a financial burden on the King, who no doubt he was told to look after…can’t choose your relatives.

  9. I don’t understand how moving to sandingham, funded by King is somehow the better outcome? Can anyone explain?

Less than a fortnight ago everyone in the media was spewing the line that he could only have his Prince title stripped by an act of Parliament and they’re all too busy.

    We are constantly fed bullshit.

He’s going to be moved into a house on Sandringham Estate, funded by the King. This sounds to me like he’s being put in a box to be forgotten about and I hope that’s exactly what happens. I hope he dies a sad and lonely old man and has plenty of time to reflect on what he has done.

  12. Can he lose a birthright title? It would be far funnier if he was an imprisoned prince. Maybe have use for the tower of London again, traditional.

  13. It would be interesting to see 100 years into the future when the documents are unsealed and reveal how much money it took to pay Andrew off – because let’s be honest here, there’s no way he gave up Royal Lodge or anything else without an immense sum of money for a promise not to retaliate by blowing all the family secrets wide open.

Fucking good, next he should be tried as a regular person with no access to additional aid from his family.

Moving him to Sandringham doesn’t seem to be much of an improvement? I appreciate it says Charles is privately funding it, but how do we know this? We never really know what money is public or private with the Royal Family.

Can’t wait for Andrew Windsor to turn up in the Jungle and eat a monkeys dick

  17. You have to wonder what changed to suddenly make them push him off the ledge.

I’m curious what they know is coming out soon or could come out soon.

Either that or Chuckie has established himself as monarch and wants him further separated – guess we’ll find out at some point, we usually do.

  18. Oh cool, now put him in prison. If my tax has to pay for this prick, I want it to go on prison meals.

  19. No change as far as I’m concerned as I’ve always been inclined to use other more colourful words to describe him.

  20. Wonder if he’ll start a right wing grifter podcast ‘I’ve been cancelled’ probably get a multi pound Netflix show and rake in the money.

    ‘Andrew, No Sweat’

  21. What took them so long?

And how long until Harry, Meghan and the kids are stripped of their titles too?

  22. Andrew can surely get a gig with the lovely lot over at GB news? He and Gregg Wallace would be quite the cookery show duo.

Could call their show ‘Sweatless & Pantless’

  23. The Palace statement:

    >*His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew.*
    >
    >*Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.*
    >
    >*Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.*

  24. The grand old duke of York

    He had 12 million quid

He gave it to someone he never met,

    for something he never did

  25. That is huge deal, probably the biggest since 1936.

The palace statement makes it clear that they believe he’s a wrong’un, and it’s my belief that they have taken this step out of self-preservation, rather than having any respect for those young women that were brutalised by Epstein and his cronies.

  26. He should be investigated and prosecuted, this is nothing more than a gesture to appease the masses

  27. Here, let me fix that headline for you.

“Accused Millionaire Pedophile Gives up Imaginary Nickname, Continues to Live for Free on Backs of British Families, Faces no Real Legal Consequences.”

  28. Having grown up in Telford, my sympathies to everyone currently living on ‘Prince Andrew Drive’

  29. HMP Whitemoor is probably the closest to Sandringham…sure they could offer him cell if he finally faces justice.

  30. It is interesting that all of this is only really happening because of the existence of a single photograph proving that Virginia Giuffre met Andrew and he was lying when he said he never met her.

Imagine how much other scandal around this family hasn’t been revealed because of a lack of irrefutable evidence.

  31. No more posh digs, servants to berate or privilege to skate on. Just a commoner now. Such a self-engineered fall from what could have been grace.
