Retail sales in Macedonia fell by 0.2% year-on-year in September 2025, reversing a 1.1% gain in the previous month.
The decline was primarily driven by lower sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (-7.1% vs 3.8% in August) and automotive fuel (-1.5% vs 4.8%).
Meanwhile, trade rebounded for non-food products (7.6% vs -3.7%).
Excluding fuel, retail trade edged down to 0.1% from 0.2% in August.
