This was revealed by the XVII Report ‘Submerged Landscapes’ of the Italian Geographical Society
The territories most at risk are primarily the Upper Adriatic and, to a lesser extent, the Apulian coast around the Gargano, various stretches of the Tyrrhenian coast between Tuscany and Campania, the areas of Cagliari and Oristano, and many others. Also at risk are half of the port infrastructure, several airports, more than 10% of the agricultural surfaces, a good part of the marshes, lagoons and the so-called ‘amphibious’ coastal areas, starting with the Po Delta and the Venice Lagoon.
Key data from the report. Coastal artificialisation – Almost a quarter of the territory within 300 meters from the coast is covered by artificial structures, with alarming peaks in Liguria (47%) and Marche (45%).
Accelerated erosion – Italy risks losing up to 45% of its beaches by 2100, putting an invaluable natural and tourist heritage at risk.
Coastal defenses – Artificial barriers now protect more than a quarter of low-lying coasts, but they exacerbate erosion and vulnerability and will be increasingly costly and less effective.
Tourist pressure and economic impact – Coastal municipalities offer 57% of tourist beds, but this uncontrolled development is exacerbating the crisis.
Salinization of agricultural land – In the summer of 2023, the salt wedge rose up the Po Delta for over 20 kilometers, threatening agriculture and the availability of drinking water.
Vulnerable protected areas – Protected areas, crucial for biodiversity, protect 10% of Italian waters and coasts, but rarely have an adequate management plan.
Ports at risk – Ports and related infrastructures extend for 2,250 km and risk being heavily compromised with serious effects on the quality of logistics systems.

Gli italiani rischiano solo x quanto riguarda le case.
Le spiagge non sono piu “nostre” da tempo 😂 al massimo le perdono quelli con le concessioni 😂
Forse non dovevano costruire praticamente sulla battigia
Divertente che l’insieme di chi perdera’ tutto é quasi totalmente sottoinsieme di chi nega l’esistenza del problema.

Chissene tanto non sono sufficientemente ricco da avere una casa sul mare, e poi con i prezzi degli affitti che rifilano ai turisti in stagione se ne saranno già costruite altre a bizzeffe

Non vedo l’ora che il mare faccia arretrare la costa della Liguria così dal Piemonte basta scavallare l’Appennino e sei subito in spiaggia. /s
