Bulgaria announced in recent days its return to the Eurovision Song Contest after a three-year absence, and this time with ambitious plans!
According to Fakti.bg, and citing sources within the national broadcaster BNT, the comeback will not be merely symbolic. The channel is reportedly preparing a “super-project” designed to showcase the contemporary face of Bulgarian music in front of millions of viewers across Europe.
Sources say some of the biggest names in the country’s music scene are already on the list of potential candidates. Among the names being mentioned are Krisiya, Dara, Mihaela Marinova, and the popular pop-folk singer Tita, who could bring a more folk-infused, explosive energy to the contest stage!
“We want an entry with which Europe will say: ‘This is Bulgaria!’”, sources inside BNT reportedly declare. The song will, according to the same information, be chosen through a national selection process, aiming to find a song that is modern, globally understandable and at the same time unforgettable — a track that could potentially reach the top five!
The country already has two spectacular moments behind it: Poli Genova in 2016 and Kristian Kostov in 2017, which delivered Bulgaria its best results in contest history. Now the question is whether BNT’s new plan can replicate or even surpass that success.
