A video of a murder in front of a club in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, has emerged on social media.

According to foreign media, the footage comes after an incident that occurred on the night of Friday to Saturday, when a man was brutally beaten in front of a restaurant in Novo Mesto and later died from his injuries.

Police have arrested a 20-year-old suspect and a protest has been announced for today.

And according to unofficial information, the events began when the young man called his father from a bar, claiming that he was being threatened by a group of people and asking him to come and get him.

The father, a well-known restaurant owner, arrived immediately.

As soon as he got out of the car, he was attacked by a group of men, suspected to be members of the Roma community, who caused him serious head injuries.

Emergency services managed to “revive” him at the scene, but his condition was extremely critical and he was taken to hospital.

Despite the efforts of doctors, the man died on Saturday shortly before 10 p.m.

Media reports say the man killed was a 48-year-old man.

Meanwhile, as a result, Justice Minister Andreja Katic and Interior Minister BoĊĦtjan Poklukar resigned on Sunday.

“By resigning, I want to contribute to calming the situation, everyone should think about their responsibility,” Katic said at an urgent press conference, while the interior minister added that he “takes objective responsibility.”

Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob also spoke at the conference, announcing urgent legal changes regarding Roma issues and security.

Police announced that a 21-year-old suspect has been arrested.

The National Security Council, among other things, decided to send additional police forces to Novo Mesto, and if necessary, to send a special police unit.

Citizens have gathered in the center of Novo Mesto since morning to light candles for the deceased local resident. /Telegraph/
