North Macedonia has still not adopted the necessary constitutional amendments aimed at including Bulgarians and other non-majority communities in the constitution. This is stated in the annual report of the European Commission on the progress of EU candidate countries, cited by “Radio Free Europe”, reported BGNES.

The report emphasizes that existing bilateral agreements, including the Prespa Agreement between Greece and North Macedonia and the Treaty of Friendship, Good-Neighborliness and Cooperation between Bulgaria and North Macedonia “must be carried out in good faith by all parties involved.”

At the same time, it notes that the authorities have continued work ”on reform roadmaps in key areas such as the rule of law, public administration, and democratic institutions, alongside an action plan for the protection of minorities.”
