VILNIUS (Reuters) -Lithuania is in talks with German defence conglomerate Rheinmetall for a second investment project, a Lithuanian presidential advisor said on Tuesday, without elaborating.

    Rheinmetall is due on Tuesday to begin construction of an ammunition factory in Lithuania, due to to go into operation in the second half of 2026, in which the German group will own 51% while two Lithuanian companies will hold the remaining 49%.

    “We have launched talks with Rheinmetall on a second investment,” Deividas Matulionis, chief national security advisor to Lithuania’s president, told radio Ziniu Radijas on Tuesday.
