    >But in an email sent to the pupil’s mum, a police officer confirmed they would not be taking any further action against the youths involved.

    >In their message, they said: “I have discussed the report with my sergeant who has made the decision that the school will be the most appropriate agency to deal with the assault, and the police investigation will not be investigated any further due to the age of the people involved and it taking place on school premises.”

Obviously I’m not a legal professional or a law enforcement professional but I feel like someone being beaten to the point of hospitalisation by a group of organised youths probably merits action by the police. It goes well beyond a regular scrap.

I’ve seen the video and I have no idea how they came to that decision.

It’s just a wee spot of ultra violence, nothing for the police to worry about.

Meanwhile, 10 riot cops arrest someone for stealing 76p of pasta from a migrant hotel.

Honestly looks like there could be a racial element involved. Hate to type that age old comment but…if the situation was reversed there would be massive outrage.

  6. Hardly shocking knife crime is so high when kids can get away with a serious gang beatings with zero punishment from the police.

Sending an email rather than actually talking to the parents and victim is a massive pussy move. Pretty awesome it leaves a paper trail of incompetence though

  8. We had one member of school stabbed and another assaulted- separate incidents, first one Police came out and took statements then nothing, second one they took 3 weeks to attend.

  9. Permanently suspend every child involved in the attack! That is absolutely disgusting behaviour and parents will let their kids get away with it because of the mindset “would rather it be them than my child” schools need to get tougher because the way of life within education is changing rapidly and needless to say people won’t send their kids to a place for 7-8 hours just for their child to be violently assaulted and have no form of protection!

Of course. I was stabbed in the eye with a sharpened piece of wood back in 1995 by a school bully, a month before our GCSES were due to start. The police did nothing, and the school just suspended him so that he could still do his GCSES, as they felt it would be unfair on him to lose out, despite the fact that I couldn’t see out of my eye for another two weeks.

Random attacks are very serious and absolute need the police. Beating people up for no reason is extremely worrying behaviour

  12. Good stuff parents, social media and kids themselves. The world is a living condom advert

This incident is going to scar the boy for life. Yes, anti social youth feel emboldened, because nobody does anything to them when they set upon a helpless victim. Society is sick.

  14. Ever look at stuff like this and wonder if the “violent crimes are down” statistics are being massaged somewhat? If this isnt being investigated as a violent crime then what is it? If police are prepared to dismiss gang beatings as spats then what else is being ignored?

  15. And you know what the school will do? A few days in isolation for the perpetrators to have a jolly together and then brush it under the carpet

All 9 children need to see prison for at least 2 years.  Parents need to be fined 12 months of income. Unfortunately, the police do not consider this a crime, so nothing will happen. Beaten him unconscious, should all be tried for attempted murder.
All black, the victim is white, clearly a racist hate crime. If it were 9 white children beating on an innocent black child in an unprovoked attacked, we all know it’d be on every front page right now. People online and maybe even some MPs would be calling for the ‘9 racists who committed a brutal, monstrous assault’ to be named and shamed.

I am sickened by the police here and I am sickened that social services aren’t in contact with the parents of all 9.

“Will not be investigated as it happened on school grounds”, implying that the Police can do nothing due to the offence taking place on private property.
    What utter crap!
Does that mean the the majority of burglaries, murders, and worse should not be investigated as most take place on private property?
Sounds like an administrative detection to me.
“Sign my PNB saying no further action, I’ll get others to do the same”. BOOM lots of crimes detected. Good for the books.
