EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos told the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee that North Macedonia must implement its constitutional amendments and that there has been no progress on this issue over the past year.
“North Macedonia fully aligns with the Common Foreign and Security Policy and has continued technical work on the Roadmap and Action Plan related to Cluster 1, but the country has not taken decisive steps to advance its EU accession negotiations during the past year. It must adopt the constitutional amendments in accordance with the conclusions of the European Council from 2022 in order to progress on its path toward the European Union,” Kos said before AFET.
The European Commission’s report emphasizes the requirement to include Bulgarians in the Constitution, as well as to uphold the 2017 Treaty of Good Neighborliness. | BGNES
