In response to the tragedy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where 12 people died in a fire at a retirement home in Tuzla on Tuesday evening, the Government of Montenegro decided during a telephone session to declare Thursday, November 6, a Day of Mourning.

“On the day of mourning, in accordance with the Law on State Symbols and Statehood Day, flags will be lowered to half-mast on all buildings of state bodies and buildings of local self-government bodies and public institutions. In accordance with the Decision, on the day of mourning, public, cultural and entertainment programs will not be held in public places, and music will not be broadcast in catering establishments. Electronic and other media are obliged to adapt their program content to the observance of the day of mourning,” the Government announced.

The statement added that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and other members of the Government expressed their deep condolences to the families of the victims, to the Mayor of Tuzla Zijad Lugavić and fellow citizens, and to the President of the Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto and all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A fire broke out at a retirement home in Tuzla on Tuesday evening shortly before 21 pm, and according to the latest information, more than 30 people were injured. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
