We coparent so we like share a big family on Thanksgiving.”The event is a partnership between Perry Publishing and Tinker Federal Credit Union, and has been a community staple for decades. “We’ve been doing this turkey giveaway at least 25 years,” said D. Chappell, a radio personality from Heart and Soul.Chappell spoke of the importance of the event for the community. “People need help so this is our way to give back, connect with people and help out the community because everyone’s not fortunate enough to have money to get a Thanksgiving turkey so we’re looking out for everyone else,” he said.Carter expressed her determination to ensure her family enjoys Thanksgiving this year.
