“I am and feel Kosovar” – Albian Hajdari talks about why he chose Kosovo over Switzerland

Kosovo center back Albian Hajdari has revealed the reasons why he chose Kosovo over the Swiss national team, as well as his hopes for qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
In an interview with “Corriere Del Ticino”, Hajdari said that he feels Kosovar and that coach Franco Foda had a great influence on his choice to represent Kosovo.
“The Kosovo national team had been exerting its influence for a year and a half now, a period during which I made my debut with Switzerland. And, yes, managing everything was not easy. I am and feel Kosovar, but also my path as a footballer led me to want to experience from the inside the senior national team of the country that trained me. I wanted to understand how I would feel in the Swiss context. After that, I had many conversations with Kosovo coaches Murat Yakin and Franco Foda. And the sum of the feelings I experienced during these conversations, together with the more intimate ones, led me and my circle to decide on Kosovo.”
Albian Hajdari has completed two appearances so far for Kosovo, showing very good form and receiving praise from fans as a very important center back for the future of the Kosovo national team.
