Once they reach a consensus on the democratic process up of the committee that will decide the treasurer of the funds they’ll have this all sorted

£Sultana has pushed for the party to be called The Left Party, while Corbyn hinted the name Your Party could stay.”

For once, I agree with Sultana. It should be called The Left Party because they’ll surely be left behind.

I signed up for a monthly fee. Tried to cancel it with my bank they said I needed to speak to the vendor first. No one replies to my emails to YourParty. Its been such a shambles.

  4. The inevitable result of 2 career politicians trying to actually do anything themselves.

They’d be out of their depth managing a jumble sale.

  5. This is great, the worst part of it is going to be listening to the cries and fingers in ears of all the die hard fans of Reform vote….. no wait… <checks notes>…. Ah right, oh yes, Corbyn fanatics….

I’d probably have a little bit of respect for them if showed some humility and called it a day. This is just an absolute car crash.

That said, the conference will no doubt be very entertaining.

  7. The left: “Ha, reform couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery!”

    Also the left:
    >just another few months guys, we’ll definitely have decided on a name by then!

  8. Anyone supporting this party after Sultanas comments on Zelensky is just not a serious person. Why anyone would support this student union politics party over the Greens is beyond me.

  9. To be fair, Zarah Sultana did say they’re not going to take crumbs off the table. They’re going to take the fucking lot.

Sorry but is this not fraud? Unauthorised membership portal collects nearly £1 million and now it’s not even being transferred to the actual party sounds a bit like fraud?

I’m a Commie, I’m a leftist but Corbyn and Sultana have never been the sharpest tools in the shed. Posturing with policy, soundbites over concrete economic reforms etc.

I find it odd how people have always been critical of “tinkering around the edges” when politicians like Corbyn and Sultana, self-proclaimed Marxists and/or Socialists, propose exactly that with just high wealth taxes for more public funding rather than reform measures to democratise workplaces etc.

All Tankies still are ineffably wedded to capitalism at ground level, and are morally bankrupt. Change my mind.

  12. “We’re going to create a left-wing party for those who want real change” or whatever the original sentiment was.

How has it been several months and we’ve gotten nowhere? I appreciate that getting a party up and running likely isn’t an easy job but it’s like they’d rather fight amongst themselves.

“That money was just resting in my account!” – the comedy character Zarah Sultana

This just makes me sad. It’s been decades since I envied US politics, but damn now they got Mamdani and we got these pillocks. Sultana was never big enough to be meaningfully disappointing but Corybn’s really pissed me off.

He’s clearly just pissing about and it’s been obvious from the start that he’s not really wanted to get involved in any of this from the start.

As someone who once somewhat admired him and even thought he could be a hope for Britain, it’s really become clear that he was a shambling false hope all along. Someone who’s happy to be a figurehead for what’s proper instead of actually trying to be the spearhead of change

Corbyn should have defected to the Greens ten years ago. Why he thought making his own party, further splitting the left vote and strengthening reform was a good idea.

  16. One of them is ideological to the point of incompetence, and the other is corrupt; I have no idea what people expected.
