Jeff Bezos is the 3rd richest person in the world.

I can understand the US government having vested interests of missing deadlines and budgets with dumbasses neglecting science… but what’s the excuse of BO’s benefactor not going solo and competing against NASA and harnessing their superior entrepreneurial spirit to put an Amazonian-naut on the moon?

My good idea: “Pay me a billion dollars, and maybe I’ll have something for you in five years. But the penalty clause on my contract has to be less than 5% of the overall contract value. And I get inflation adjustments to my payout.”

Imagine how many people who could be focused on getting to the moon are now wrapped up in a new tendering process

  4. They just want the money, they’ll have an excuse when they can’t deliver. These are business folks, not scientists or engineers. Full on grift.

  5. I wouldn’t trust a blue origin vehicle they took their time on. I wouldn’t want to be in the same state as one they rushed.

If they had good ideas, they would’ve put them in their original Artemis proposal that was laughed out of the room.
