Partizan vs Monaco Preview

The past few weeks have been a nightmare for Partizan fans, marked by injuries and losses suffered by their beloved team. The black-and-whites have recorded four consecutive defeats and five losses in their last six games. In the EuroLeague, they are currently on a four-game losing streak, which has significantly worsened their record to 3–6. Partizan has also been unlucky lately — with key player injuries and heartbreaking defeats in close finishes, such as against Barcelona (76–78) and Olympiacos (71–80).

In both of those games, Partizan held the lead for most of the time and seemed poised for victory in the final minutes. However, against Barcelona, Will Clyburn hit a near half-court three-pointer, after which Sterling Brown missed an easy layup that could have tied the game. Missed layups also cost Partizan dearly in Piraeus. Poor finishing around the rim prevented them from building a larger lead before the closing stretch, where Olympiacos’s aggressiveness — combined with a questionable officiating standard — led to an 11–0 run by the home team and a win over Partizan. Nevertheless, it was a promising performance by Zeljko Obradovic’s squad, just four days after their disastrous showing in Dubai in the ABA League. The legendary coach had called out his players for a lack of effort, and they responded in the right way against one of the main EuroLeague title contenders. On the positive side, Shake Milton returned to the court, while newcomers Bruno Fernando and Nick Calathes have adapted impressively quickly. Still, there is concern within the club over Jabari Parker’s form and situation — he missed the last two EuroLeague games, against Barcelona by coach’s decision, and against Olympiacos due to illness. Moving forward, Partizan will need to improve their finishing around the rim, foul discipline, perimeter defense, and late-game concentration if they want to turn their season around.

Unlike Partizan, Monaco has been in excellent form recently. They’ve won three straight EuroLeague games, two of them on the road. Monaco managed to beat Olympiacos in Piraeus 92–87, and then defeated another Greek powerhouse, Panathinaikos, 92–84 at home. They completed their streak of good results with an overtime win over Maccabi Tel Aviv (112–107), though the game turned out to be tougher than expected.

Mike James played his best game of the season against Maccabi Tel Aviv, finishing with 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists. At one point it looked like the game was slipping away from Monaco, as Maccabi led by nine early in the fourth quarter, but the visitors’ quality eventually prevailed. This team’s roster is packed with talent, and in every game, a different player can step up — like Alpha Diallo’s 27 points against Olympiacos or Elie Okobo’s 15-point performance versus Panathinaikos. Those two victories were crucial for Monaco and coach Vassilis Spanoulis, sending a clear message to the rest of the league that they’re aiming for the top. The only concern at the moment is Nikola Mirotic’s form — he’s been slower to find his rhythm than expected, scoring in single digits in his last four EuroLeague appearances. Monaco currently boasts the third-best offense in the league and ranks seventh in two-point and three-point shooting percentage. Defensively, they’re solid enough — 10th in the EuroLeague — to sustain their success, though their defensive effort against Maccabi Tel Aviv should serve as a warning that greater intensity is required on that end of the floor.

Partizan vs Monaco H2H

Last season, Monaco defeated Partizan in Belgrade 79–74, while Partizan responded with a convincing 86–69 victory in the return game.

Injuries and Suspensions

Partizan will be weakened by the absence of Carlik Jones and Mario Nakic, while Vanja Marinkovic remains questionable. Monaco have no injury concerns.

Where to Watch Partizan vs Monaco?

Partizan vs Monaco Best Betting Tip and Prediction

Partizan played well, or even very well, for the majority of their last two games, but a lack of focus and finishing accuracy around the rim cost them victories that would have been fully deserved based on their performances. Now, the black-and-whites are determined to defeat the in-form Monaco, aiming to achieve two things — end their losing streak and regain the confidence they desperately need. They will have the support of 20,000 loyal fans, as well as the best possible scout for Monaco — their former point guard, Nick Calathes. Taking everything into account, it’s time for Partizan to reward themselves for their solid recent play, and we believe they can do just that by securing a win over Monaco.
