Dozens of young people checked for poisoning after party
Norwegian police are investigating a case in which up to 30 young partygoers were taken ill at a venue near Oslo.
After the party, which took place at a venue in Lørenskog, a suburb of Oslo, the young people became ill and were examined for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning, VG and NTB report.
Petrol or diesel-powered equipment that was used indoors may have caused the incident, according to the reports. A second event at the same location was cancelled by police.
“The venue is being treated as a crime scene,” police prosecutor Tor Anders Persen told NTB.
The investigation includes forensic examinations of the venue and the equipment used during the party.
Around 400 young people had gathered for the event in Lørenskog when several began experiencing symptoms such as headaches, nausea and dizziness.
None of the young people were seriously injured, Akershus University Hospital said in a statement.

‘Communication fault’ leaves Gazans waiting for healthcare

NRK’s story revolves around a nine-year-old boy who was evacuated to Norway after his eyes were severely injured, almost completely losing his sight, but did not receive the follow-up support he needed after an initial operation.
The senior elected official for health at Oslo Municipality, Andreas Saliba Korkunc, admitted a breakdown in communication over the refugees from Gaza.
The municipality has meanwhile said that a general shortage of healthcare workers over the summer may have affected the situation.
Norwegian flight to Tromsø makes emergency landing
A Norwegian flight from Copenhagen to Tromsø was forced to make an emergency landing at Luleå in Sweden last night, local media iTromsø reports.
“The aircraft had difficulties landing in Tromsø due to the weather and therefore had to fly to Luleå to wait,” press spokesperson Silje Glorvigen with Norwegian told the media.
“We then received a report of a possible technical issue with the aircraft, so the passengers had to wait for a new aircraft to arrive from Oslo,” she said.
SAS flight from Oslo makes unscheduled landing due to medical emergency
A SAS flight from Oslo to Tenerife meanwhile also made an unscheduled landing in Amsterdam on Saturday night, due to a medical emergency on board.
“There was an acute case of sickness during the flight and the aircraft landed in Amsterdam in line with normal procedure,” SAS head of communication Øystein Schmidt told NRK.
The aircraft was scheduled to continue to Tenerife after the passenger received treatment, he confirmed.
