The National Museum of Serbia announced today that from Tuesday, 11 November, until Sunday, 16 November, it will offer visitors the opportunity to see the Miroslav Gospel, the oldest preserved Serbian illuminated Cyrillic manuscript, to mark Armistice Day in the First World War.
Furthermore, special accompanying programmes dedicated to the Miroslav Gospel will be organised for visitors.
The statement also notes that, alongside the National Museum’s programme marking Armistice Day, visitors will be able to view the museum’s permanent exhibition and its regular programmes.
“The Miroslav Gospel will be open to visitors from 11 to 16 November 2025. It is a precious monument of Serbian and world cultural heritage that will be available to the public during this period,” the National Museum stated, adding that this represents a unique opportunity for visitors.
Admission to the National Museum of Serbia will be free for all visitors on Tuesday, 11 November. Expert guided tours about the Miroslav Gospel will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, while on Saturday, 15 November, at 4 p.m., Zoran Rakić will hold a talk with visitors on illuminated manuscripts.
A guided activity for children titled “Letters and Animals from the Miroslav Gospel” will take place on Thursday, 13 November, and Saturday, 15 November, at 3 p.m.
