The Albanian national team has begun training in Barcelona, ??ahead of the last two qualifying matches against Andorra and England, valid for the 2026 World Cup.
The Reds are in high spirits after three consecutive victories, while defender Mario Mitaj, in a statement to fshf.org, expressed optimism about the continuation of this positive momentum, emphasizing the importance of the first challenge with Andorra.
“These are two very important matches, we know what to expect, we know the opponents, especially the first match against Andorra, which is very important, where we all have to be very focused,” said Mitaj.
The national team defender emphasized that the group is in a very good moment and that the team’s objective is victory.
“We are here after three won matches, we are in a very good moment. I believe that we will continue in the same way. It is a match that we have to win because it is not enough, we have to go in just for the win. All the guys are in very good shape, we are all very charged, we know the importance of this match and I believe that we will go in and give our best”, – he added.
Mitaj praised the next opponent, but said he believes in the team’s concentration and play.
“We know opponents like Andorra, who defend a lot and stay back, but I believe that the way we enter the game, how focused we are, will make the difference.”
He also spoke about his form at the club and the impact this has on his appearances with the national team.
“Always, if I do well with the club, it also affects my performances with the national team. Overall I’m happy to perform well and I believe that this will have a better impact with the national team.”
