  1. Next elections are going to be very interesting. I just hope there will be a coalition government to rein in each party’s extreme ideas.

Zack Polanski is saying the things that a lot of people who voted Labour believed Labour wanted to do. I’ve revoked my Labour membership and intend to vote Green if it’s a choice between them and Conservatives & Reform.

  3. Labour have gone after reform voters at the expense of their own, they have shown zero vision. I don’t blame people for flocking to the Greens, i am very tempted to do so myself. The only thing stopping me is i absolutely hate all nimbys and greens hate nuclear power.

Labour need to ditch starmer ASAP or this will only get worse. Tbh, I don’t think any of the cabinet (or probably even whole party) would be any better

  5. Many of the Green Party’s overall aims are generally nonsense, but it’s worth it as a protest vote to Labour honestly right now.

  6. There goes Starmer’s trump card of expanding the vote to 16 year olds.

    Oops.

That’s the problem with running an uninspiring and incompetent government that actively harms everyone who supported you. People won’t vote for you again.

  7. Lib dems need to step up and show they are proper centralist/slightly left. but have the balls to go through proper hard decisions.

Green policy is a bit all over the place, though I am impressed with some of what Zach has said on wealth tax etc

  8. So sick of this tale ffs. The left splits, largely because of the economic illiteracy or unaccountability of fringe parties like the greens.. let in a right wing government … waste time on an unelectable leftwing Labour Party … coalesce around the centre and finally win… left fragments …. Rinse and repeat until I die. Fucking pathetic.

  9. I do fear its just populism winning.

Were tired of nothing getting done, of everything being too difficult and unfairness.

Were struggling, with those on say less than 40k (pretty arbitrary number pulled out of thin air) having a pretty difficult time and lacking hope.

Life doesnt feel as good as it did years ago.

So on the left its the populism of the greens rich people arent paying their share its why your struggling

On the right its the populism of reform. Foreigners are taking your share thats why your struggling.

  10. The technocratic neoliberal parties are done for. Good riddance. Tories are toast. Labour faces a choice of either changing or being annihilated when the boomers die off.

  11. The Green Party’s (temporary) appeal to young people is unsurprising. At that age idealism is untempered by cold-hard practical realities.

The Green Party has strayed far from its founding principles. It now supports virtually any absurd policy popular with hard-Left activists (and the very young):

    – Palestine (unquestioning and without nuance)
    – Women’s spaces (including prisons, communal changing rooms/showers and contact sports) must include all trans women or are bigots
    – Abolish Private Landlords (property is theft)
    – Remove virtually all barriers to immigration, such as any limits to benefits, rights to work/vote, possible detention (borders are also bigots)
    – Leaving NATO (violence isn’t cool)

These are policies that will not survive intense public scrutiny as we move closer to an expected Spring/Summer 2029 election.

unsurprising, perhaps, given that the greens might well seem to be the only party giving the impression that they are interested in making the future a better place?

Labour lowering the voting age was certainly one hell of a self goal. Even if younger people vote less it’s still important.

  14. At this point this country is toast, nothing ever gets truly better under any government. Might as well throw your vote away because it basically makes no difference. These parties don’t give a shit about actually improving the country or following the will of the people, they just push through whatever they want.
