On 13 October 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia (resident in Yerevan), Tatjana Panajotović Cvetković.

The parties discussed the existing traditional and friendly relations, welcomed the growing dynamics of bilateral cooperation, and noted the recent high-level meetings held between the two countries.

The launch of direct flights between Tbilisi and Belgrade was assessed as an important step forward, as it has contributed to strengthening business ties and people-to-people contacts, increasing passenger flows, and promoting the development of new tourist destinations.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed the priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. They particularly underlined the mutual readiness of Georgia and Serbia to conclude a Free Trade Agreement and emphasized the importance of the progress achieved in this regard.

Both sides also welcomed the upcoming session of the Georgia–Serbia Intergovernmental Joint Economic Commission, which will take place in Belgrade in November of this year.

Special attention was paid to the importance of closer cooperation between the business communities of the two countries and to the need for further steps in this direction.

The parties once again reaffirmed their mutual support for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ambassador presented the Minister with a commemorative postage stamp issued in honor of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Serbia.
