The long-term vision for Greece is a country where Greeks only either own some kind of tourist service, or make freddo-cappuccinos for wealthy tourists at said tourist services.
There is often speak of a “brain gain” in Greece, but the truth is, it requires returning Greeks to accept 1/3 of their salary abroad, and yet to pay the same rent they paid in the country from which they would return to Greece.
I love Greece, but there is a very clear disdain from the political class toward “the ordinary Greek citizen” (at least as they imagine them to be) that is holding the entire country back. Greeks need to learn to not think badly of other Greeks. The truth is, Greeks are typically more skilled (certainly more educated in terms of number of diplomas obtained) and harder working than the rest of Europe!
