Seen some Walter mitties before like a guy wearing an SAS Beret and a chest full of medals that he was to young to have been awarded, that Police Chief that was sacked for wearing a South Atlantic Medal (he was a teenager at the time of the Falklands).
Someone turning up as an Admiral takes the award for the biggest bell end of them all, its not like he is going to blend in with a dodgy couple of medals he was in full rig.
I genuinely thought this was gonna be a joke about Andrew Windsor. He kinda looks similar in the thumbnail too.
It’s some other delusional grifter instead.

I really don’t understand the motivation. Those guys who sneak into the team photo at a footie match, they’re at least doing something somewhat humorous.
Sneaking into a ceremony to honor the dead? It’s not like you’re gonna be smiling.

I don’t understand how people think they can get away with this sort of thing.
Surely you’d just feel like a massive mug, as soon as someone asks you where you served or for anything more than cursory details you’d fold. You’re going to come across someone who actually was in xyz regiment and that’s going to be really rather embarrassing.
As a Field Marshal I find this sort of behaviour disgusting.
How can they expect to get away with it? The main topic of conversation between Vets is where you served etc. That day he was surrounded by real veterans!
You’ve almost got to admire the sheer audacity of such levels of bullshittery.
