The Albanian national team has qualified for the 2026 World Cup play-offs with a victory over Andorra.

The “Red and Blacks” won 0-1 in Andorra, while England defeated Serbia as hosts.

Albania dominated the game overall but was not effective at all in the first half.

Albania attempted to create several actions that were not successful, while the most dangerous opportunity came through Berat Gjimshiti who hit the crossbar after a corner kick.

However, the whole situation changed for the better for the guests with the inclusion of Mrytu Uzun and Nedim Bajrami. In fact, both were protagonists in the qualifying goal.

Bajrami passed to Uzuni, who miraculously found the forgotten Kristjan Asllani, with the latter unlocking the result with a super shot.

Further, Albania maintained the score by creating several actions but was more focused on the defensive aspect.

Thus, Albania collects 14 points, four above Serbia, so even if they lose to England in Tirana, they still have the second place in the play-offs secured.

As a reminder, the draw for the World Cup play-offs will be held on November 21, while Albania is in the third pot.Telegraph/
