The annual inflation rate in France was revised lower to 0.9% in October 2024 from a preliminary estimate of 1% and compared to 1.2% in September.

Prices fell at a sharer pace for energy (-5.6% vs -4.4%), namely petrol (-1.9% vs -0.4%) and electricity (-13.8% vs -13.7%) while gas prices have slowed sharply (1.1% vs 6.4%).

Prices also decreased more for manufactured goods (-0.5% vs -0.4%) and rose less for food (+1.3% vs +1.7%).

Also, service prices increased at the same pace as the previous month (+2.4%), as well as tobacco (+4.1%).

Compared to September, the CPI edged up 0.1%, following a 1% drop.
