Good morning everyone! A colleague, who likes to read my publications about the Soča front, invited me through his association to give a lecture on a selected topic. I chose the Austro-Hungarian forts on the border with Italy, which were built at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. I will use three examples to show the evolution of these fortifications (that is, the method of construction and armament) and their fate during the First World War.
