The drinks at S&L are fine, I have never been impressed with the food, though. It’s the kind of stuff you could easily cook at home.

Another victim of TDR Capital.
They’re the modern day Granada group – buying well performing brands, saddling them with debt and making them go bust while riding off into the sunset with the cash and doing it all over again. 😔

This is shows the ineffectiveness of private equity, slug and lettuce is still very busy drink venue, nonreason to why this should be going bust

Slug and Lettuce always gave me the impression that they were one step behind and trying to do everything, and everything not working.
Went in with my wife once, looking for a meal, as they were advertising their food a lot.
They have a dance floor in the middle, with DJ and blasting music, and the only tables available were the high ones and accompanied by stools.
Like, what the hell do you have planned? Pie and Mash then doing a breakdance?

The headline should read “Infamous vampiric TDR sucks life out of latest victim. Who’s next?”

Despite bringing in over £1.7 billion last year, the company has accrued debts of more than £3 billion over the past few years.

At some point you really need to start checking your bank statements.

All these commenters reciting nonsense about private equity being some great evil whose purpose is to destroy businesses are so confidently ignorant it’s hilarious
I don’t know how exactly private equity has turned into a bogey man but just the mere mention of it absolutely triggers people like conspiracy theorists

Given how preachy, onerous and love letter-ish their job applications are this is wonderful news. Hopefully they go bust completely.
