The organizer says he looks forward to doing it again next year.
FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – On Saturday, a well-known Flint man gave back to the community with his first-ever turkey drive.
Roy Jackson Jr., who runs the Dreamz Two Reality organization, gave away 200 turkeys Saturday afternoon. It was an effort to give back to the community.
People were lined up at DeloRoys Complete Autobody and Paint located in the 1300 block of North Saginaw Street in Flint beginning at 1 p.m. for their Thanksgiving bird.
“It really means everything to me to be able to bless families around this holiday season,” said Roy Jackson Jr. “And a lot of cars that pulled up, it really warms my heart that I can give them and bless them with a free turkey for this Thanksgiving.”
Roy told ABC 12 that he gave away 150 turkeys in the first 30 minutes and then went to retrieve 50 more.
Jackson Jr. added that he is excited to continue the event next year.
