  1. If that was the case then why ‘doctor’ the footage in the first place. its seems idiotic to create a narrative that was already there to the people it only effects in a secondary stance.

  2. Laws around defamation are very different in this country and the state of Florida, where Trump would likely try to make the case.

Its a very complicated case that would take years to tackle.

Fortunately, Trump seems to have more urgent issues to deal with in the meantime, like explaining who “Bubba” is.

Need to remember what a vindictive, evil monster he is in many ways. Wouldn’t surprise me if he banned the bbc from the usa if they don’t pay up (well we the tax payers would be paying the orange grifter thief). Hopefully when the monster leaves office, a lot of shte will come out to ensure his standing as Amagarica’s worst ever president

Just show the entire speech at this point. People will soon agree they probably made him Look good compared to what he normally sounds like

  5. Can the BBC counter-sue in Florida if the case is deemed to be frivolous, because that would be hilarious.

  6. US media always stitch his words together with no problem. This is because they’re usually stitching it to make it sound better, because he waffles and rambles and goes off topic so much.

  7. Quite obviously a smear/coup campaign from cretins like the Telegraph and GBNews

anyone from the UK who writes for them are actual Traitors and are working for a foreign government.

Amazing this comes out the same week we find out the US population trusts the BBC more than any of its actual domestic news channels and GBNews goes to America

And they are right. They also aren’t affected by trump, so he can’t strong arm a dodgy kickback out of them.

Question is will bbc grow some balls (after removing gibb) or be some meek weakling that will take this assault by trump and the extreme right like gbeebies

  9. Doesn’t defamation, or whatever he is claiming, have to impact people’s view of him?. Those who are MAGA won’t change their opinion of him. Those who think he’s a mistake won’t think any worse of him. And it wasn’t aired in the USA. So it makes no odds?

  10. By claiming editing is ‘doctoring’, British media outlets are making a rod for their own backs.

Whilst he can’t win in a court, my concern is he may simply take a billion off the BBC some other way, eg force Disney to not pay for Dr Who or something to that effect.

However I presume there will be a war with Venezuela later this week (to distract from whatever is described in the Epstein files) so he might just forget about the BBC.

(WHY DOES AMERICA TOLERATE THIS WANKER?)

  12. The footage could “reasonably be expected to play in the US” therefore there is a case. Also it was shown on UTube, twitter as well as probably being mirrored on us networks.
BBC are clutching at straws. They defamed probably the world’s most powerful politician and broadcast it to the world.
The BBC F’ed it big time.

If that’s the case then why do things that harried in the US plaster front page of BBC?

  14. So many defending the bbc who have admitted being in the wrong. Sometimes the anti Trump brigade get very predictable and a little tiring tbh. I am not a Trump supporter either.

  15. Its a distraction/ shakedown. The actual legal position doesn’t really matter.

Expect threats against the BBC – up to being banned in the US and journalists threatened with expulsion – unless some money changes hands.
