So, in 2003, the Bundesrat decided to limit the insight of Documents in regard to Switzerland- South Africa relations, because they would adversely affect swiss businesses in a trial taking place in the us. From what I know, Switzerland was getting rich off the Apartheid state, and many people were making loads of money off the backs of oppressed, black south Africans. Now, has anyone ever looked into the fact that the Bundesrat, of which Blocher, a man who made lots of money from the Apartheid trade with south Africa, is a part of, is the one who suddenly closed the files? I wasn’t really around then, and am curious to hear what people said then (in 03), and how that discussion evolved. Some screenshots:
I would like a discussion to learn about this topic, not to start a fight. This is something quite major, and is quite closely tied with out economy, and I feel like it isn’t too well known about here. Thank you for any perspective 🙂

Blocher was a Bundesrat from 2004 to 2007.

So he hasn’t been part of the Bundesrat for 18 years and wasn’t even a part of it when this decision was made.

    * Blocher joined the BUndesrat later, I didn’t look into it properly. I am instead still curious as to the discussion on this topic in general, because that’s what interests me.
