At the Hani i Elezit Border Crossing Point, Kosovo Customs Anti-Smuggling units have conducted detailed checks on suspicious persons and vehicles.
During a search of a couple, two bags containing approximately 150 grams of a suspected narcotic substance, methamphetamine, were discovered in their personal bag and in their car.
“After documenting the case, the substance and the persons involved were handed over to the Kosovo Police for further investigative procedures. Methamphetamine is an extremely dangerous psychotropic substance, which causes rapid addiction, increased aggression, serious damage to the nervous system, cardiovascular problems, high risk of overdose and permanent consequences on mental and physical health,” the Customs statement said.
Furthermore, it is stated that its use and trafficking pose a great risk to public safety and community health.
Kosovo Customs remains committed to combating smuggling and any other form of crime, guaranteeing security and legality at all border points in the country. /Telegraph/
