As reported in the Norwegian government’s statement
Norway is providing Ukraine with an additional 465 million Norwegian kroner for humanitarian aid (about 45.8 million dollars). This is in addition to the previously approved 120 million kroner for food security (approximately 11.8 million dollars).
The government of Norway announced this, outlining the priorities of humanitarian support.
Additional humanitarian support and priorities
“Norway’s humanitarian support to Ukraine saves lives and alleviates suffering. It helps the Ukrainian people maintain their resilience. This is a key priority for Norway.”
– Osmund Aukrust
Thanks to these funds, Norway is increasing its support for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and for refugees in neighboring countries. It is expected that the total amount of aid will rise to 3 billion Norwegian kroner by 2025.
Funding will be distributed through United Nations partners, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and Norwegian humanitarian organizations. The government emphasizes the priority of protection, humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable, support for evacuation, and aid to internally displaced persons. The funds are also directed at helping people who have lost their homes due to Russian attacks.
Cooperation and further steps
“The collaboration we are seeing between Norwegian humanitarian organizations and local organizations helping Ukraine’s civilian population is invaluable. Norway places particular emphasis on projects aimed at protecting and improving the situation of children. Joint projects also provide food to civilians in need, through direct cash transfers and housing, and support mine clearance activities.”

Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko said that the Grain From Ukraine humanitarian initiative will transition to a new format – Food from Ukraine, which will involve exporting technologies to African countries and building mutually beneficial partnerships.
