Change in population of kids under 5 in US metro areas (2005-2024)

    It’s almost like fertility rates are highly correlated with housing prices and vice versa.

  2. I don’t understand. If we’ve doubled the number of kids in the last 20 years, why are they trying to close so many public schools?

    Good to see the places to avoid. I would a  hundred times prefer to be in places with fewer kids under five.

    This needs to be normalized by population growth of the MSAs over the same time period. It is hard to tell if this is simply general population growth or if there is something unique about the population change of children under 5. Would be interested to see population growth vis a vis population growth of <5 under population.
