Very cool. Hopefully soon we’ll have Waymos and Wayves and Teslas doing the dumb and stupid job of playing with a wheel like a child.
Nice. Waymo is already safer than most human drivers, hopefully we won’t continue to tolerate hundreds of road deaths because it’s familiar deaths (and also luddites).

Is “road clear” meant to be expressing an imperative? As in “clear the road!”
> The pilot region stretches from Regensdorf to Killwangen.
I hope the choice of **Kill**wangen is not foreshadowing.
Wow, I never thought this would be possible in switzerland…
Especially with so many people who are afraid of it for no reason.
Several similar projects before covid, all canceled. It just may be more safe, as the end goal.
But even that one rare accident that will happen, who’s responsible one? Excuse me, but isn’t that the stepping stone of the machine autonomy that sinks? Reality check. Clankers on sidepaths that hit little kids on their way to school. I’d love to hear at least an idea of legal solutions, because without it, we’re going to Mars on Snickers.
Personally, if I would want my car to drive by itself i’d use public transport.
But great for people who are overchallenged with driving a car.
I tried Waymo in San Francisco two weeks ago. It was pretty safe, I slept in the car.
I think the use case is more for those without a car and need a ride to/from train stations.
The last km issue is the real challenge [think of rainy and cold night where taking a bike is challenging].
It has begun.
