And how quick can we get these into the hands of the Ukrainian defenders ?

My guess is that covering the drone in soggy silver foil will be enough to get past this system.
The silver foil reflects 95+% percent of the laser energy away. The remaining energy is wasted boiling off water (the specific heat of vaporization of water is really high), and finally the foil has a much higher melting temperature and is thin so is force cooled on both sides by prop wash.

can we test it on ships now….there is a target off the irish coast i believe

Like to see how it fares against a swarm of 10,000 drones with built in AI avoidance which is quite feasible these days.

As impressive as this is, that video showed it took a good 30s of continuous fire just to down one drone. How will it handle a swarm?

Is it any good against ships. Such as russian spy ships that fire lasers at RAF Maritime Patrol aircraft?
