EL CENTRO—ABATE Local 38, a motorcycle rights organization that focuses on rider safety education and advocacy, is gearing up for their 28th annual Turkey Run, an event that gathers donations for local charities ahead of Thanksgiving.
Eddie Aranda with the organization said the need this year is higher than usual. “We are up to 650 turkeys that have been requested, which is 200 turkeys more than what we did last year. We only did 450 last year,” he said in a phone call with the Imperial Valley Press.
