International design practice MAWD | March and White Design has unveiled its vision for The Dorcol Residence, a landmark development that redefines contemporary living in one of Belgrade’s most historic quarters. It also marks MAWD’s first concept architecture project.
Set within the cultural fabric of Dorćol and overlooking the Danube, the project fuses yacht-inspired architecture with interiors rooted in craftsmanship, materiality, and a global perspective on luxury.
A Design Language Inspired by Flow
Taking cues from the sculptural fluidity of yacht design, The Dorcol Residence is shaped by soft, flowing lines, stepped terraces, and bronze-framed details that create rhythm and movement across the façades. Floor-to-ceiling glazing captures panoramic views of the Danube and the city beyond, ensuring every home is deeply connected to its surroundings.
Interiors that Balance Heritage and Modernity
Inside, MAWD has curated spaces that pair international elegance with a distinctly Belgrade sensibility. Refined material palettes, bespoke joinery, and considered lighting come together to create residences that are both timeless and adaptable to modern living. Each home is conceived not simply as a dwelling, but as a sanctuary — one that balances privacy, openness, and a connection to the city’s rich heritage.
“What distinguishes The Dorcol Residence is the opportunity to bring a global design perspective to Dorćol’s historic setting,” said James White, Co-Founder of MAWD. “Our approach combines flowing, yacht-inspired architecture with refined interiors, creating homes that are as intuitive as they are beautiful, and that embody Belgrade’s spirit with international elegance.”
Amenities as Extensions of the Home
Across landscaped terraces, residents will find contemporary sculptures and outdoor lounges that extend the living environment into nature. Wellness and lifestyle are central, with fitness spaces, spa-inspired amenities, and discreet concierge services designed to elevate daily life. Integrated smart systems, biophilic landscaping, and sustainable technologies further position The Dorcol Residence as a future-ready community.
A Vision for Belgrade’s Next Chapter
The Dorcol Residence sits at the intersection of Belgrade’s cultural legacy and its forward-looking ambitions. With the city’s new Linear Park just steps away, the development creates a bridge between heritage landmarks and contemporary living.
This is design that does more than create homes — it shapes an experience of Belgrade for a new generation of residents.
The Dorcol Residence will be delivered in two phases, with phase one scheduled for 2028 and full completion planned for 2029. Private previews are available for qualified buyers by appointment.
