“I panicked! At the end of the third quarter, when they hit a three-pointer plus a free throw, I started checking the clock because the game was moving so fast! Then KD hit a three, Booker followed, and everything changed.
Serbia played insanely well. I missed my first three-pointer, but we grabbed an offensive rebound, and then I hit the shot. That’s when the energy started to shift, and I felt like I could start making shots.” – said Steph Curry
He then commented on the final quarter of that game:
“Ten minutes of perfect basketball. They grabbed so many offensive rebounds, we couldn’t secure defensive ones, but everything else on both ends was flawless. Everyone had their moment, everyone played hard, and it was clear we needed literally everything to pull it off. Serbia played a A+ level game. A+.”
LeBron James, the host of the podcast, then added to that:
“We were perfect! They still have no idea how the hell they lost that game! I’m sure of it.”
The USA went on to win those Olympic Games, while Serbia took the bronze.
