The Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall and potential risk of flooding in several regions of the country.
The announcement states that the situation is expected to worsen by Saturday evening, the Telegraph reports.
“Considering the generally unstable hydrometeorological situation during these days, which includes rainfall, causing flooding in some areas of the country. Currently, rivers throughout the country have decreased, but the rainfall that is expected to fall in the coming hours, especially in the eastern part (Morava e Binça Basin), will increase water flows from the high mountain areas and consequently the Morava e Binça River with its main branch Kriva Reka, which may cause flooding,” the announcement states.
Such a situation will also dominate in other parts of the country, especially the north-eastern part (Llapi Basin), central (Sitnica) and southern (Lepenci Basin).
Furthermore, the weather is said to be potentially dangerous
“The weather phenomena that have been predicted are not unusual, but be careful if you intend to practice activities exposed to meteorological risks. Stay informed about expected meteorological conditions and do not take avoidable risks,” it is further emphasized. /Telegraph/
